The KISS costumes

So the kids have been planning this since last year! Jay has been trying to talk them into this since Cache was born. This is one group costume that worked pretty good because they still looked good by themselves when they were at school. Gavin refused to paint his face for school so he went as a pirate, Kaelee's costumes was not done in time for school so she was a witch. So here is the story of the costumes the good the bad and the ugly.

First I had great plans of making boots, and multiple pieces for each kid, and buy wigs. So to do this JoAnn fabrics was having a sell that started on a Sunday and all Halloween Fabric was 50% off. So Jay and I got up early and went to IF (I know we are awful) and spent $35 of fabric I cleaned of the bolt of every one of my fabrics. Next I had to figure out how to make these costumes because I did not like any of the patterns I found. Then I got sick, got behind in school, and oh yeah tried to edit patterns in the middle. How dumb can one mom be? I'll let you know next year! So first I tackled Gavins leather jacket because I thought this would be the hardest! It turned out great! Makenzie sacrificed her favorite leggings to her costume and one of her black shirts I just cut out the fabric and wonder undered it all on. The silver fabric was a pain to say the least. Kaelee's wings came next as I tried to blend my ideas with Jay's (Husband shouldn't get an opinion in stuff like this) but we do work well together and Kaelee's wings turned out pretty darn good although her spikes didn't want to stay on. Oops Cache reminded me that I had not started his the morning of his party so I started what I thought would be the easiest (the alien). Those darn discs were difficult. Jay called me in the middle and I was bawling, but it all worked out and Cache told his teacher, "Yeah my mom just did this this morning," glad he thinks I can do anything! Oh yeah the makeup everyone told me not to worry so much about the clothes but to worry about the makeup. First we started with Halloween costume makeup and it smeared and I couldn't get lines very sharp so then I went and bought (don't judge) out door acrylic craft paint. The outdoor stuff stayed shinny. Friday night at the carnival it took Jay and I 2 hours to apply the paint, I am proud to Say on Saturday with all four kids we got it down to 1 1/2 hours. So here are my best pics......

first round of Halloween

Ok every year I end up staying up all night to finish costumes, well this year was no different but I was sick so I just couldn't do it all. So the kids had endless Halloween activities this year and so for the ward party I sent then to find they're own costumes in the Halloween box. I was so madd they all came up looking awesome and they had so much fun, I have to wonder why am I staying up all night.

So first Makenzie was Jackie O

Then gavin was a pirate without an eye patch this was because the eye patch bugged him, he came up with the idea of putting the bird on his shoulder and it made the costume!

Kaelee was a witch she was in charge of most of the carnival and so she had to look good. I love the eye brows best!

Cache was a hunter he was so excited to get to wearn his Dad's yeatie hat, personally I thought it would be itchy and heavy, but go Cache!

I think they all looked great and they had a ball.

School Pics

Ok so here is the low down on the kids school pics---- Kaelee looks old what can I say, but hey she is gorgeous! Makenzie was healing from her hives but we didn't dare put makeup on the one on her neck, once again isn't her hair so cute and didn't she do a great job on her outfit? Yes, Gavin is not styling a missionary hair cut but he has awesome hair, and the attitude to go with it. Hmmm what can I say about Cache he is unable to smile or do anything normal, so why start now? I thought the kids pictures turned out great and showed a little glimpse of their personalities.

What's been going on?

Wow how time flies when your having fun! What have the Fuller's been up to? HMMMM.... I can't say we have been doing much, but running like chickens with our heads cut off. Kaelee has been doing Volley Ball two games a week and two teams at each game for a total of 8 sets a week with some tournaments on the weekends. On the days she doesn't have games she has practices until 5:15pm. We have loved having Jay home and just basking in the joy of Dad, and hanging out with Dad. The rest of us having been trying to keep up with everything with school, church, scouts, activity days, YW, and just being a family. I have begun cold season with a doozy of a cold and I hope I am finally recovering, Jay caught it from me and is also recovering. So what have we been doing? A lot of nothing happy September!

Huh????

Things I found on my camera memory card…

Evidence of what my kids do when I am not looking

Volleyball

Well today we spent the day watching volleyball. Wahoo! Only a parent who goes to all day tournaments can possibly understand what a labor of love these are. First I admit that I love, love, love going to watch my kids play ball, dance, play instruments, or whatever; but there comes a point when I am done!

I told Kaelee, " if you throw the games today we get to go home sooner" to which she responded, "No way, Mom,"

I had to try!

Well the day went long because they were winning and both Madison's teams won their tournament.
Go Bobcats!

Kaelee is doing great despite a minor elbow injury, B.O., and her hair do's falling out in the middle of the game.

So here is to kids sports that last all day-- I raise my diet Pepsi
I will be there no matter what, I will have lots of treats, and I will take a long nap afterwards and I know I earned a pizza night!
